Structure of Floating Docks

A floating dock is a facility that consists of various types of floatation modules connected to the shoreline or existing fixed piers. The floatation modules can move up and down with the tide. These modules are connected with gangways, and there are connecting bridges between them.
Fastening bolts and brackets are used to connect the floatation modules to each other. Once the modules are connected, they are secured in place using anchor and anchoring facilities in the early days. However, in recent times, they are mainly fixed in place by triangular gussets and guide frames installed on the floatation modules, which are anchored to steel piles pre-installed in the sea.
The main structural components of a floating dock include the floatation modules, connecting gangways, gangplanks, steel piles, mooring pillars, rubber fenders, and more.
