Fixed Cat Ladders/Stainless Steel Cat Ladder Engineering (with cages)
Fixed cat ladders, also known as cat ladders, are commonly used for access to water tanks, elevator machine rooms, vertical shafts, and other elevated installations in buildings. If the height of the cat ladder is 3 meters or more, appropriate safety rings must be installed on the ladder to ensure user safety.
The standards for fixed cat ladders are based on the requirements of BS 4211:2005 and BS EN ISO 14122-4:2004.
- The distance between safety rings should not exceed 1 meter.
- The lowest safety ring should be installed at a height not exceeding 3 meters from the ground.
- The topmost safety ring should be positioned at a height of at least 1 meter above the exit point. If the exit point is a work platform, the ring should be connected to the platform’s guardrail.
- The diameter of the safety rings should be 650-800mm, and the ladder width should be 400-600mm. (Reference: BS 4211:2005, BS EN ISO 14122-4:2004).
CHEC GOLD Engineering can custom-make CLP stainless steel cat ladders according to CLP standards, with heights exceeding 2.5 meters and equipped with safety cages. We also offer #304/#316 stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized cat ladder extensions (telescopic ladders).
Both new and old versions can be customized, with the new version following the Water Supplies Department (WSD) specifications WSD 7.3H.

Stainless Steel Fire Doors, Pillar Room Doors, Stainless Steel Fire Shutters
Manufactured products for pillar rooms in Hong Kong must comply with the drawing requirements and inspection standards of Hong Kong Electric or China Light & Power. The steel and ironwork projects involved include double and single-hinged doors, stainless steel fire shutters, cable pit covers, iron railings, cable tray brackets, pillar room doors, control room doors, fire doors, steel stairs, cat ladders, climbing ladders, and crane installations, stainless steel fire buckets, stainless steel water gate doors, and more.
CHEC GOLD Engineering supplies and installs CLP/HKE pillar room doors (with or without fire certification). CLP/HKE standard pillar room doors are stainless steel doors with a fire rating of 120 minutes and have a fire certificate according to the BS476-P22:1987 fire test standard. These doors are specially designed for CLP/HKE pillar rooms.
